BE4: I’m Not Sure I Agree

How do you disagree in English without sounding too direct — but without sounding unsure either?

This workshop focuses on one of the most important skills in professional communication: expressing your real opinion diplomatically.

You’ll explore different levels of agreement and disagreement, learn how to soften criticism, invite other people into the discussion and turn disagreement into constructive suggestions.

You’ll practise how to:

  • ask other people for their opinions

  • express strong, neutral and tentative opinions

  • agree strongly or cautiously

  • disagree professionally

  • soften criticism

  • use diplomatic language

  • make positive suggestions

  • respond to conflicting opinions

  • help move a disagreement towards a solution
